Friday Finds (Sept. 5)

FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). It is hosted by Miz B over at Should Be Reading.

I don’t have that many finds this week, surprisingly.

The two biggest ones that I’ve come across are Empires & Barbarians: The Fall of Rome  and the Birth of Europe by Peter Heather, and The Fall of the Roman Empire: a New History of Rome and the Barbarians by Peter Heather.

What are your Friday Finds?

  1. I’m thinking of doing a lot of reading on the Vietnam War, simply because I don’t seem to have a clear picture of it. Stanley Karnow’s Vietnam: A History, David Halberstam’s The Best and the Brightest and The Making of a Quagmire, H. R. McMaster’s Dereliction of Duty, Daniel Ellsberg’s Secrets and Neil Sheehan’s A Bright and Shining Lie will make it to the list.

    • Those sound interesting! I should probably read more about the Vietnam War since I don’t have clear picture if it either, but I tend to read books on ancient history or on WWII. Enjoy your books!
