This Week in Books: 09.09.2015

I am joining in with the lovely Lipsy from Lipsy’s Lost and Found’s feature which highlights our week in books. I shall be sharing what I’m reading now, then and next! A similar theme is run over on Taking On a World of Words.

NOW: Shocker of shocks—I am only reading one book at the moment—Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman.

THEN: I just finished reading Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. You can read my review here.

NEXT: I received an arc copy of Forsaken (Daughters of the Sea #1) by Kirsten Day, which I will probably start in the next day or two.

WHAT AM I LISTENING TO? I recently got a copy of A Palm for Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman on Audible. It’s one of my favorite stories, and I love listening to Barbara Rosenblat narrate.

I’m Waiting On…

619JH+BA1oLThe Marvels by Brian Selznick

Caldecott Award winner and bookmaking trailblazer Brian Selznick once again plays with the form he invented and takes readers on a voyage!

Two seemingly unrelated stories–one in words, the other in pictures–come together. The illustrated story begins in 1766 with Billy Marvel, the lone survivor of a shipwreck, and charts the adventures of his family of actors over five generations. The prose story opens in 1990 and follows Joseph, who has run away from school to an estranged uncle’s puzzling house in London, where he, along with the reader, must piece together many mysteries.

How has your week been?

    • I know what you mean! I’m so behind on reviews as well. And I just haven’t been up to it, to be honest. I look forward to seeing what you think of QoS! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. The cover for Vengeance Road is amazing (sorry that’s rather shallow!) – I hope the contents is just as good.
I’ll hold off reading your review of Queen of Shadows until I’m caught up. At the rate I’m going I’ll probably get there this weekend.
Thanks for visiting my WWW post and happy reading!

  2. I really need to get a copy of Vengeance Road as well… And I will read your review of QoS as soon as I’ve finished it. 😉 I like the look of Forsaken as well!
