Shelf Control | 09.23.15

Shelf Control is run by Bookshelf Fantasies, and is weekly feature focusing on already released books that you want to read. Consider this a variation of a Wishing & Waiting post… but looking at books already available, and in most cases, books that are either on my shelves or on my Kindle!

This week I went with Temples, Tombs & Hieroglyphs: A Popular History of Ancient Egypt by Barbara Mertz. Screen Shot 2015-09-23 at 9.02.30 AM

How I got it?

I bought it.

Why do I want to read it?

I’ve always had a love for the history of Egypt, something I shared with my grandma. This one has been on my shelf for a while, and one of these days I will get around to reading it!

What has been on your shelf for a while that you’ve been meaning to pick up?

  1. Cool! This book looks awesome. I also have had a love for Egyptian history so I’ll have to add this to my TBR. My Shelf Control also featured an Egyptian history book this week 🙂

  2. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I know I like her writing because of her Peabody series.

I’ve read several books by Zahi Hawass and have seen him a number of times on TV. He is so inspiring. His love of Egyptology shines though.
