Arc Review | US (HIM #2)

US takes place six months after HIM, during Wesley’s Rookie season in the NHL. And it is every bit the page turner as the first book!Screen Shot 2016-02-09 at 4.01.30 PM

Jamie and Wes’s story continues in this steamy sequel to HIM (which, if you haven’t read yet–GO! Read it! It’s so good!). I’m always a little leery of sequels. They just never seem to live up to the first book. This book, however,  was just as heartbreaking, just as steamy, just as romantic as the first book.

US picks up six months after HIM ends, with Wes in the middle of his rookie season, and still trying to keep his relationship on the down low from his team and the media. But when one of Wes’s teammates moves into the building, their “carefully woven lie begin[s] to unravel.” Soon their relationship is strained and everything comes to a head one of them (I won’t say who) gets really sick and depressed.

I love Jamie and Wes. I love seeing them trying to figure lives out–it’s such a complicated mess they find themselves in, I wanted to cry several times.

One of my favorite characters, besides Wes and Jamie, was Blake, the one who moved into the their building. He is such a character, and yet a truly decent human being. I love him. I also suspect that he and Jamie’s sister, Jess, had a fling, and I want their story! I need it, actually.

THE ENDING. OMG. I might have squealed just a tad. It was the perfect ending to these books!

Beyonce meme

Honestly, Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy are one of my favorite pairs of co-authors! They write such wonderful, steamy, angsty romances! I need more from them!

My rating: 5/5 stars

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
