This book focuses on the second leg of the quest for the Stars of Fortune, with mermaid Annika and Sawyer as our love interest. I think what I enjoyed most about this book was Annika and how she views the world. She has an innocence about her that is refreshing. She loves fiercely, and is not afraid to speak her mind. Out of all of them, I think I enjoy her character the best. And to see her pursue Sawyer, get advice about boys from the girls, and to get him to admit that he loves her (because mermaids cannot speak of it first), was pretty adorable. Annika has this fresh perspective of life that is sort of freeing, in a way.
Like most of Nora Roberts books, this was a fun escape.
I cannot wait for the conclusion to this trilogy, Island of Glass. I need to see how Doyle and Riley get together!
