Arc Review | Steadfast (True North #2)

Only five more days until Steadfast, book two in the True North trilogy by Sarina Bowen! I could not wait to read Jude’s story as soon as I finished Bittersweet, and I have to say that I absolutely fell in love with Jude! Now I just need Zach’s story!!Screen Shot 2016-07-05 at 3.13.03 PM

Jude’s story picks up not long after Bittersweet ends, with Jude arriving in his hometown of Colebury to start working for his father at the mechanic shop.

This a wonderful story of redemption and forbidden love. 👌🏻 Jude is this sweet reformed bad boy who I couldn’t help but fall in love with. All he wants (besides wanting his old love, Sophie, back) is to rebuild his life after serving 3 years in prison for vehicular manslaughter. A thing that broke my heart was at the beginning of each of Jude’s chapters, seeing his cravings meter. Some days were better than others, and one thing that helped keep on track was the fact that he did not want to disappoint the Shipley family when he went for Thursday night dinners.

While I fell in love with Jude, it took me a while to warm up to Sophie. I feel bad for all that she’s gone through—she’s not an easy time of it, especially after her brother died—but I didn’t care for the fact that their reunion sexiness together is basically her using him. She did grow on me, though. I did end up liking her and loving the two of them together. I really just wanted to wrap Jude in bubble wrap and take him away from everything.

I loved this story—it even had a bit of a mystery! So that was awesome.

My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

*I received an arc copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
