This Week in Books | 08.17.16

I am joining in with the lovely Lipsy @ Lipsy’s Lost and Found’s feature which highlights our week in books. A similar theme is run by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words

NOW

I am currently reading Nevernight by Jay Kristoff and I love it so far! I started reading The Delphi Effect by Rysa Walker, but put it on hold when I got Kristoff’s book.

I recently finished How to Keep a Boy From Kissing You by Tara Eglington, and thought it was an adorable book.

I’m not sure what I’ll read next, but I will probably read Fate of Flames by Sarah Raughley

What am I waiting on?

  1. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Nevernight. It sounds really good, but I’ve also heard the writing is really dense so I think I’m going to hold off on it for now, but I’ll definitely be picking it up eventually.
Thanks for stopping by my WWW!

    • It is really good so far! The writing is very descriptive and a little old fashioned (almost like reading a classic book), which I’m pretty sure Kristoff was going for. The writing put me in mind of LOTR by J.R.R. Tolkien. If you like descriptive writing and/or classic books, I think you would like this book.

      • I’m not a huge fan of books like that, but every once in awhile I get in the mood to read one, so I’ll probably save Nevernight for the next time that happens. 🙂 Thanks!

  2. Hmm I’m interested to see what people think of Carve the Mark. It sounds a mash-up of so many other books but that could be a good thing – I liked Red Queen because of that. I love the title and the cover a bit more than the synopsis though!
