Arc Book Review | Rookie Move

Like all of Sarina Bowen’s books, this one is a sizzlingly hot read! Leo and Georgie are the perfect start to a new series!Screen Shot 2016-07-22 at 2.55.03 PM

You don’t need to know Sarina Bowen’s Ivy Years series to read this book, but some characters are mentioned from those books in here. When Georgia and Leo were first mentioned in The Fifteenth Minute, I was curious to know their story further. I knew some of it from that story, but I was so happy when I found out they would both be the stars of Bowen’s new Brooklyn Bruisers series!

When Georgia first learns that Leo, her ex-boyfriend whom she broke up with, was the new player for the Bruisers, she is determined to keep things professional. All that goes to pot when a live mike catches Leo declaring his feelings for her as they are getting ready for a press conference. On top of that oppsie, Georgia’s dad, the new coach for the Bruisers, has a long-held grudge against Leo, making her life all sorts of complicated (and don’t I just love complicated in these books!)

Half the book I just wanted to go in there and shake them and tell them to just bloody talk to each other already! I loved their story and seeing them come back to each other and still be so in love after six years of being apart.

When they finally talk, it was like a Hallelujah moment. So much heartache and angst could have been saved if they had just talked, but then again, this is a story and what would it be without a little angst. So it’s a minor complaint.

This was just a plain hot read, and I absolutely loved it!

It also introduces a new character, O’Doul, who is to be the star of the next book, Hard Hitters, and let me just say that I need that book RIGHT NOW.

*I received an arc copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
