Book Review | Inked by Eric Smith

This was such a fun, action-packed book! I loved it and can’t wait for book 2!Screen Shot 2016-09-02 at 3.34.51 PM

I love the premise of this book! There are many books out there that are centered around rebellions, but this one had an interesting take that immediately caught my interest—tattoos. Tattoos were once a symbol of rebellion, but now they decide your destiny. If you are not inked, you are suspect and could be killed.

The book centers mainly around Caenum, his love interest, Dreya, and their new companion Kenzi. Caenum is on the verge of turning 18, the age when you get inked. But through a series of events, he, Dreya and Kenzi must run from The Citadel.

What was best about this book was the characters. I really enjoyed reading about them and seeing them develop. The plot seemed to move a little slowly at first, so that was a drawback for me, but things pick up considerably halfway through.

Overall: this book seems perfect for younger readers.

My Rating: 4/5 stars

*I received an arc copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
