Book Review | Behind Closed Doors

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. And after reading this book, I’m not sure I want to know.

“The things that happen to people we never really know. What happens in houses behind closed doors, what secrets … ” -Harper Lee

This book is terrifying in how realistic it is. It was an exciting, thrilling read, but scary. It made you question how well you really know someone. How do you know they’re not really putting on this front to lure you in, and that at some point they won’t turn into this psychopath? Scary thoughts.

You know right from the beginning that things aren’t right. There are little give aways that the reader can pick up on, but you aren’t made aware of how bad things are until you get further into the story. B.A. Paris had me turning the pages, anxious to find out what would happen next.

The reason I only give it 4 stars is that it gets a bit repetitive in the middle, but things pick right back up towards the end.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, but I might have to stay away from psychological thrillers for a bit to recover from this book.

My Rating: 4/5 stars

  1. I couldn’t agree more!! This book disturbed me and made me so angry. But I couldn’t stop reading – I had to know what happened. I hated it and loved it equally. Lol. Now my book club at work is reading it, and I can’t wait to hear their thoughts on it. Great review!
