Arc Book Review | Hard Hitter (Brooklyn Bruisers #2)

screen-shot-2016-12-02-at-10-02-15-am

If you need a quick escape from reality, this series is the one to escape to. It’s got hot guys, hockey, romance, and some angst.

Patrick O’Doul is this gorgeous, Alpha Male type, but he hates to be touched, something that goes back to his childhood. Ari Bettini just broke up with her long-term boyfriend, and is wary of anything to do with relationships at this point.

I enjoyed this book, don’t get me wrong, but the problem I think I had with the book is that the romance goes from 0 to 60. There is this attraction there, but they hold each other at arms length and then all of the sudden they are falling into bed with each other.

That being said, I still think it was a really good book. It had all the hallmarks of Bowen’s previous books. There was the romance, some great hockey playing, some drama, and some love. All of my favorite things.

My rating: 4/5 stars

*I received an arc copy of this book via Netgalley from Berkley Publishing. Thank you!
