Arc Book Review | Renegade Red

“I’m a poet, Judah. Words are sacred.”

This was a fantastic follow up to Shattered Blue, one of my favorite reads of 2015! It picks up where the first book leaves off, but you get a sense of déjà vu at first that kind of throws you (which is brilliant, in my opinion). This book is darker than book one—Noa, Callum, and Judah must fight to survive across worlds and between them, and in doing so they go to treacherous places, and places that will deceive their minds.

I loved that this book expanded and explored more of Callum’s and Judah’s characters. I loved seeing them grow and develop, and seeing secrets revealed. I will say that this book makes me worry for my ship of Noa and Judah, because I love those two (I love Callum too, but JUDAH). I’m anxious to see where Lauren Horowitz will go in book three!

One thing that I’ve loved from the start of this series is the poetry included; Noa is a painter with words, and some of my favorite parts of Shattered Blue was the poetry parts. I was really glad to see that Renegade Red had poetry include in it as well. In all honesty, this book is a beautifully written, engaging read and one I highly recommend!

My Rating: 5/5 stars
