This Week in Books | 03.22.17

I am joining in with the lovely Lipsy @ Lipsy’s Lost and Found’s feature which highlights our week in books. A similar theme is run by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words

NOW

Right now, I am still reading Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, and while it’s going slowly for me (which has nothing to do with the book), I am really enjoying it. I am also listening to Followed by Frost by Charlie Holmberg—again. I reviewed it back when it was first coming out, and then reread it again last year, and it’s quickly become a comfort read for me. When no other book I pick up interests me, this one gets me through. If you haven’t read this yet, I highly recommend it!

THEN

I recently finished Upstream by Mary Oliver, and I have to say that there were bits I liked about it, but overall, not one I enjoyed.

NEXT

I will probably still read The Stranger in the Woods by Michael Finkel next, but I also need to start the arc copy of Pipe Dreams (Brooklyn Bruisers #3) by Sarina Bowen. So those are on the short list to read.

What am I waiting on?

[Linking up with Breaking the Spine]

I finished Sleeping Giants last week or so ago, and now cannot wait for this book to come out!

What are you currently reading?

  1. I’ve heard good things about Bel Canto, but somehow I never managed to read it or add it to my wishlist… That’s changed now. 😉 I hope you will enjoy your books this week and happy reading!

  2. It’s too bad you didn’t enjoy Upstream. I was wondering why you have it in a picture with a Carole King album, does it have anything to do with the story?

I’m currently reading a Pride & Prejudice retelling called The Many Lives of Fitzwilliam Darcy.

    • They both had similar themes, at least to me, in the way they view life.

I hope you’re enjoying your P&P retelling! Those are some of my favorite books to read.
