This Week in Books | 06.28.17 #twib

I am joining in with the lovely Lipsy @ Lipsy’s Lost and Found’s feature which highlights our week in books. A similar theme is run by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words

I’m currently reading A Paris Apartment by Michelle Gable, and enjoying it so far. It’s especially fascinating as it is based on facts. There was a woman named Marthe de Florian who had her portrait painted by Giovanni Boldini, the “Master of Swish.” I am also reading The Girls in the Water (Detectives King and Lane #1) by Victoria Jenkins. It’s too early into the story to tell what I think of it, but I think it’ll be a good one.

I managed to finish quite a lot this past week:

I hope to read Reign of Serpents by Eleanor Herman next. It’s book 3 in the Blood of Gods and Royals quartet, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! I also plan on starting Last Breath (Detective Erika Foster #4) by Robert Bryndza next. It’s already downloaded onto my Audible app! I don’t what I’ll do when I’ve finished all of these—I need a fifth one to be released soon, lol.

What am I waiting on?

[Linking up with Breaking the Spine]

You won’t know this because I never really talk about it, but I am a huge Tamora Pierce fan. I love her Protector of the Small quartet and her Wild Magic quartet. So I am super excited that we are getting Numair’s story.

What are you currently reading?

    • I think my main issue with The Marsh King was that the flash backs seemed to overwhelm the present day drama, and take away the suspense.

  1. Looks like you had a great week of reading! The Paris Apartment sounds really interesting. Definitely going to have to check that one out. Loving that cover of Tempests and Slaughter. Plus that title sounds badass.

  2. Wow I’m impressed with the amount you were able to read last week! Lots of good ones as well… I can’t wait to read The Girls In The Water and The Marsh King’s Daughter.

    • There were lots of good books to read through last week. 😉 So far, The Girls in the Water is reminding me strongly of Brydnza’s books, which has me enjoying it even more. 😊
