#BookReview | Buried Secrets by T.J. Brearton

While plowing his yard for a new garden, Brett Larson comes across human bones. Meanwhile, Jimmy Russo is arrested for driving on a suspended drivers license and sent to Riker’s Island, where he is coerced into helping the bad guys.

I was intrigued by the premise of this story, and decided to request it. Sadly, I was underwhelmed. I started completely spacing out in the middle of reading this and just could not focus on what was happening. After a while of this, I decided to set it aside at 50%. I think part of this was that I just didn’t find any of the characters compelling, and the suspense just wasn’t there. If the characters had been fleshed out a bit more, I might have enjoyed this a bit more.

My Rating: 2.5/5 stars

*I received an arc copy of this via Netgalley from Bookouture. Thank you!

  1. A shame you weren’t able to enjoy it better, but I’m definitely glad I forgot to request this one now. Great review!
