Mini-Review Monday | Invictus by Ryan Graudin

In this instance, this was a case of “it’s not you, it’s me.” I loved the idea of this book! I love books that involve time travel, so I jumped on this one when I saw it on Netgalley. Long story short, I had a hard time getting into this, and I have no real good reason why. I loved the prologue, and the characters (except for Farβ€”he was a little too arrogant for me).

So like I said, I think this was not so much that the book wasn’t good, I was just reading it at the wrong time, or in the wrong format. (It does make a difference for me with certain books if I read them in hardcover or on my kindle.)

This is one I will be coming back to later and seeing if my thoughts on it change.

*I received an arc copy of this via Netgalley from the Publisher. Thank you!

  1. I totally agree with that, some books just aren’t a right fit and sometimes it definitely matters what format you are reading. I’m glad I didn’t request this one though; I’ll wait until after it’s published before I make a decision to read it or not. πŸ˜‰
