April Wrap up: I read 14 books this month, a few of which were dnf, but overall, it’s been a good reading month. [All links go to my reviews]
I was quite excited to see that Amanda Quick was coming out with a new book, and one that took place in the 1930s! I wasn’t expecting that setting as Jayne Ann Krentz set her Quick books in the Victorian era, while her JAK books are set in the modern era. I have to say that I love this new setting! It doesn’t seem like the 30s is much explored by authors and it was interesting to see this era through Quick’s writing.
“… this library was both enormous and ancient. It was full of whispered words, the lure of stories waiting to be read, a rustle of promise that hung in the air.”
If&Then Thursdays is a book meme created by Alex @ Young at Heart Books. How do you participate? It’s easy! All you have to do is choose two books that are somewhat related in theme, writing style, genre, etc. Tell us how they are similar and why we would like them! All recommendations should be made in this format: “If you like Book A, then you might enjoy Book B”
” You will know me soon too, I promise. Starting today. You’re here.”
I am joining in with the lovely Lipsy @ Lipsy’s Lost and Found’s feature which highlights our week in books. A similar theme is run by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words.
